The government is revealing one plan it has to ease the land shortage.

The Executive Yuan says it will make sure that land purchased from the
central government is being used properly, or else it will be reclaimed.

Buyers who purchase such land for development but fail to do so will be
issued fines at first.

If the fines don't get the desired results, then the land may be auctioned
off to new buyers who will develop it properly.

Lack of land is considered one of the big issues hindering economic
development in Taiwan, with the others being lack of water, electricity,
talent, and labor.
