New Delhi, Aug. 9 (CNA) The Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in the Indian city of Mumbai (TCCM) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Indian Merchant's Chamber (IMC).

The document was signed by Jennifer Makhecha (曾小莉), head of the TCCM, and IMC Chairman Lalit Kanodia, witnessed by Yang Hung (楊宏), director of the economic division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, on Aug. 5.

The two groups will jointly hold various activities to enhance cooperation in business and marketing between Taiwan and India, Makhecha told CNA on Wednesday.

IMC, established 110 years ago, is the oldest chamber of commerce in India, with members around the South Asian country. Taiwanese businesspeople who are willing to invest in India can seek information via the platform provided by the IMC and the TCCM that is designed to help investors understand the Indian market and find suitable cooperation partners as quickly as possible, said Makhecha.

The Taiwanese association has about 50 members in Mumbai, including senior managers from companies such as Evergreen Group, Wan Hai Lines, Yang Ming Marine Transport and AsusTek Computer.
